Because the Hilton Honors American Express Card comes with an annual fee of $0, you don’t have to worry about gaining enough rewards to reimburse for its cost. Even if you don’t very often use the card, you’re still going to come out. That could make it a keeper for fans from Hilton who can usually book stays, but still want additional hotel benefits during their visits.

Elite Status

The Hilton American Express Card comes with Silver status Hilton’s loyalty program’s lowest tier of elite status. Normally, by racking up multiple stays at Hilton properties, you would have to earn this status. This status will give you a package of benefits, including:

                * Earned a 20 % offer on all base points for Hilton Honors.

                * Free internet access at selected locations.

                * Two complimentary water bottles in selected locations per stay.

                * Fifth night free if you use just points to book a stay for five or more nights.

                * Late check-out

In particular, the 20% bonus on Hilton base points can really juice your effective rate of rewards on purchases made by Hilton. Say, you booked a $100 room with Hilton, for example, and earned 700 bonus points on the purchase via the Hilton Honors American Express Card, and 1,000 base points directly through the Hilton Honors loyalty program. Through adding 200 points to your total, the 20% bonus on those base points would mean you could earn a respectable 1,900 points on this purchase. That’s worth $7.60, a solid return on a purchase of $100 based on Nerd Wallet valuations.

And the premium Hilton Honors American Express Aspire card, which carries a $450 annual fee, comes with travel points, access to the lounge and several other benefits.

Is the American Express Card of Hilton Honors suitable for you?

The American Express Card of Hilton Honors does not offer the richest benefits of Hilton around. But for travellers who want more Hilton benefits without having to pay an annual fee, this is an excellent option.
